First and foremost, meet me on GoodReads!
I’d say I’ve always been a voracious reader, but I’m not quite sure that does it justice.
Long, LONG, before Booktok came around, my mom used to have to threaten to take my books away as punishment. TV? Internet? Toys? Who cares. Zero motivation to change my ways. But when she’d bring up my trusty old stack of paperbacks - shew boy, talk about instantly whipped into shape.
I’ve always been consistent in reading at least a handful of books a year, but my love of the game really ramped back up during COVID when the library was the only thing open and there wasn’t much else to do… I read 175 books that year, and I’ve honestly been chasing that same high ever since.
With a full-time job and no pandemic slowing down my social life, my much more modest goal this year is an even 100 books.
Now, it does help a little to be in two book clubs (one in person and one over zoom with some long-distance gal pals) which winds up accounting for almost a quarter of that goal, but really, I just love the feeling of getting lost in a good book! Especially after the tiktok-ban-fake out, I’ve found myself spending even less time mindless scrolling and more time just opening up my book to read, even if it’s only a few pages.
I’m right on track to hit my goal (Goodreads says I’m 1 book behind, but I’m wrapping one up) and read 25 books by the end of Q1.
Here’s what I’ve read in 2025 so far, in order:

Top Pick:
Onyx Storm by a MILE. I was so highly anticipating this one, and it didn’t let me down a single bit. I was also so moved by Seven Fallen Feathers - I was inspired to pick it up after Good Morning, Monster, and it was incredibly well written but it was hard to read… mostly because it’s so important.
Currently Reading:
📖 Yours Truly (Part of Your World #2) - Abby Jimenez
🎧 Counting Miracles - Nicholas Sparks
On Deck:
I Who Have Never Known Men - Jacqueline Harpman
- April QC Book Club Pick
Any recommendations? Let me know, I’m always looking for new reads!
Looking forward to my next 25 books and getting closer to that 100 book goal!
